We have received so much good BUZZ from our blog we are excited to let you know about how it's now even easier to stay current with all things MIT.

RSS stands for "really simple syndication" or a way to subscribe and receive alerts when we post new content. I personally use GOOGLE READER www.google.com/reader to keep track of all my blogs of interest. This saves me time and I only need to visit sites with new updated content.

Look to the right of this blog and you will see our RSS feed button where you can click and add us to your RSS READER of choice.

PPO Convention 2007

We have spent the past 4 days at our annual state convention for the Professional Photographers of Oregon. It all started on Friday with the "Print Competition" where photographers from around the state enter their best work into different categories ranging from Portrait, Wedding, Commercial, Illustrative and Digital enhancement.

We were honored with the following awards and distinctions:

Bob Welsh:

• BEST Portrait - Animal
• Court of Honor

Bryan Welsh:

• BEST Illustrative - Photojournalism (96 points out of 100)
• BEST BLACK AND WHITE - Henry Fehly, M. Photog. Trophy
• BEST AGGREGATE SCORE - MIXED DIVISION
• ASP State Elite Award

• Court of Honor

Sheryl and I gave a program about working ON / IN / THROUGH your business where we discussed the current projects, styles and developments at MIT. We enjoy being able to share our years of experience with our fellow photographers, both local and from around the country.

Sheryl also received her AFP Degree "Associate Fellow of Photography" for her service to the Professional Photographers of Oregon.

It was a great convention and time of sharing with our friends and fellow photographers. This is our 28th year of membership in the organization and we look forward to serving and sharing for many years ahead. The Professional Photographers of Oregon also celebrated it's 60th Anniversary.

Website 2007 - New LOOK!

We are very pleased to announce that we have a completely new website. The address is the same { www.mitstudio.com } but it's a total redesign, that will help showcase more of our work and help communicate new information.

We have many new sections to enjoy:

1. "Showcase" is the section were we will highlight a special project, session or product. This section currently showcases 2 albums we created. "Kiana's" - 1 year old session and "Tiffany & Co." Frank Gehry's Collection Portland Launch.

2. "Giving Back" were we give information about current charity and community involvement.

3. "Happenings" a calendar with information that will help you plan your photographic needs.

This new site will allow us to change images and update information with ease so make sure to come back often. Thanks for trusting us with your photography needs over the years and cheers to the future.

American Diabetes Association - EXPO 2007

This past Saturday the American Diabetes Association held their 6th annual EXPO at the Oregon Convention Center. We have the honor of working closely with the Portland and SW Washington chapter of the ADA, in fact we will have an announcement soon, with a special program involving MIT and the ADA, so check back soon for details. If you have diabetes or know someone who does this is an event you want to plan on for sure. Here are some images from the day and a link with information from this years EXPO. (LINK)

The Big Event - Luis Palau

We had the pleasure and honor of attending "The Big Event" held at the Portland Downtown Hilton Friday night. "Clients & Friends", Dana and James Lanter invited us to share in this yearly event in conjunction with the Luis Palau Association. We were treated to music by Mark Harris before Luis shared some amazing stories of his recent trip from China. Luis Palau has a world wide ministry that holds Festivals with crowds of 100's of thousand in attendance.

Portland may hold a Festival some time in 2008. Visit the Luis Palau website for more information about the "Festivals" and "Livin It" – A partnership between cutting-edge action sport athletes, actor/producer Stephen Baldwin, and world evangelist Luis Palau.

Regional Men's Conference 2007

Our day Saturday started early but the glow of Starbucks helped jump start us.


We went through 4 messages and then broke into small groups to discuss each section.





Friday & Saturday Dad and I attended the Regional Men's Conference at Rolling Hills Church.

125 plus churches were represented and over 1800 men were in attendance.

Stu Weber and Bill Perkins were our dynamic speakers.

This is the second Men's Conference event I have attended, if you would like more info let me know.

Saucy + Carty Wedding

Allison Saucy and Ryan Carty were married at the beautiful Willamette Valley Vineyards on New Years Eve 12.31.06.

Evie Haskell, on her Moments In Time Photography experience...

My name is Evie Haskell, and I’m from Portland, Oregon. I recently graduated from college with a degree in music. Since last May, I’ve been teaching private music lessons, as well as pursuing a songwriting career. While I was gearing up for my first album release, I realized there were so many more details than I was aware of! One of these details: photographs. I am always in need of photographs, whether it be for a head shot, a flier for an upcoming event, a website, or photos for my CD inserts. I was so blessed when Moments in Time offered to contribute to the cause!

I actually did my photo shoot while I was home sick with mononucleosis. My mom and I weren’t sure what to expect; we simply brought piles of clothing, accessories, and had my hair and makeup done. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly faces of the MIT staff, who proceeded to help us leaf through the piles of clothing and give us tips on which outfits to use. It was so laid-back….even for someone like me, who doesn’t necessarily love having photos taken of herself.

I really appreciated the wide variety of photos taken. Some photos were more formal, while others were casual and fun. My favorites are probably the ones of me walking and smiling. Bryan had me walking back and forth down the parking lot, either smiling or just being silly. I feel that, in the time we had, we captured the “different sides of Evie”.

I would recommend anyone to Moments In Time Photography looking for quality, professional-looking portraits for any occasion! Thank you, MIT, for making my photo experience an enjoyable one!

San Antonio, TX - PPA Convention

The Professional Photographers of American convention 2007 was held this past week in San Antonio, Texas. We flew in to San Antonio on Saturday and returned home last night. As you can see from the images San Antonio is a fantastic city, with the "River Walk", "Alamo" and outstanding architecture.

We almost didn't make it out, many flights were canceled due to an ice storm that paralyzed the city. In fact many of our photography friends are still there stranded for a few days.

Enjoy the images and if you get a chance to visit San Antonio, go to the "River Walk" area for Dinner and remember "The Alamo"

Winter on the Oregon Coast

Kimberly and I decided to visit the coast Saturday (01.06.07) as we heard it's a good time to watch 'Whales'. It was cold and stormy but well worth the trip. Kimberly's dog 'Klive' had a great time. We didn't see any 'Whales' but did get some 'Chowder' from MO's a Cannon Beach must visit!
