Happy 90th Birthday { Clare }

Sometimes it's hard to express how wonderful the relationships with our clients can become, so when examples come up its fun to share.

Clare pictured below is celebrating her 90th birthday and what she wanted most for a gift was a portrait of her entire family. We headed for the beach only to find a gusty day where success of a group portrait was not possible. However the family rallied and we captured the images indoors and received a nice note from Stacey Morgan.

"Please thank Bob and Bryan for us - it seems such a long way to drive to end up taking pictures inside. But they were brilliant with all of us, as usual. Especially patient with both boys (neither of which had a nap!!) and I know the pictures will be great.

So happy to have you all in our lives!"

Thank you for allowing us to come and create these images of Clare and the whole family. Cheers and enjoy!

I've been TAGGED - { Twice }

Ok, I have been tagged and I choose not to bore everyone with my 10 random facts about my self the first time but I guess hiding didn't work so well, so here goes.

Also here is a picture of Kimberly and I at a recent wedding taken with my Point and Shoot in Self-Portrait mode.

10 Random / Not So Random Facts About Me:

1. I enjoy Golf, not that I have been playing that much lately. My last OGA/USGA handicap has me at a 6.

2. Yes, I will get an iPhone 3G on July 11th.

3. I went to South Africa in Jan / Feb 2008 and can't wait to go back in 2009.
See my blog from 2008 Memory Books From Home.

4. I can't swim... well sort of... it's the treading water part that has me challenged.

5. I originally went to college with the aspirations of becoming a Lawyer or an architect. I found both didn't feed my creative side.

6. I work each year with RFKC "Royal Family Kids Camps" it's a camp focused on helping abused, neglected and abandoned children. RFKC WEBSITE

7. I watch the History and Discovery Channel more than any other... even more than The Golf Channel and ESPN.

8. Most of my clothes are from Banana Republic and REI. Boring fact but true.

9. I'm into organization and lists. I'm the type that makes lists to track my lists. A good blog to watch is Unclutter

10. I want to learn Italian, some think our family is Italian but really we are German and Scots-Irish.

Thanks for reading, enjoy and chat with you all soon!

Crater Lake - { Vacation }

What do photographers do on vacation? In fact do we really take a vacation? Because by definition: {n 1: leisure time away from work; devoted to rest or pleasure} most photographers... photograph everything they see, on so called vacation. That's really the beauty of being a photographer though... our work is and can be a vacation. I think you get what I'm saying. Here is a preview from my recent vacation through Southern Oregon.

Cheers, and look for more relaxing vacation images to come when I get back to work!

Lake Oswego Junior Women's Club and Royal Family Kids Camp

In this picture, Philanthropy Committee Co-Chair Susan Dussault exuberantly shows the crowd that they have just donated enough to fill the last two spots at the camp this summer. Behind her is a poster made by her two young sons of a tent, which got filled with cut-outs of children as the auction progressed.

From left to right are: Philanthropy Committee Co-Chair Alice Dillon, Dennis Yamnitsky (auctioneer, and General Manager of the Oswego Lake Country Club), Dussault, and Club Secretary Kate Myers.

From left to right are: Kimberly Gustafson, Lorianne Zumwalt and Dr. Jeanie Gergen

Kimberly is my girlfriend and co-photographer for Royal Family, Lorianne is the Asst. Director, and Jeanie is our Director of Royal Family Kids Camp. We had a wonderful time at the event and want to express our sincere thanks to the L.O. Junior Women's Club for the amazing out pour of support, this event WILL make a difference in the children's life's that attend Royal Family Kids Camp this summer.
